I painted this from photographs taken while staying at Baobab Beach Lodge, Vilanculos — a beach I've walked since I was a child. It's the life of the place that stays with me: the sea changing colour with the tide, and the dhows the local fishermen still use to work it.
It's the kind of beach you can come back to after years away and still know exactly where to put your feet.
